Youssef Chermiti scored three goals as Rangers defeated Hearts 4-2, narrowing the gap on the Scottish Premiership leaders.

Rangers secured a 4-2 victory over Hearts at Ibrox on Saturday, 15 February 2026. Forward Youssef Chermiti scored a hat-trick, helping his side come from behind twice in the Scottish Premiership clash. Hearts initially led through Marc Leonard and Claudio Braga, but a Michael Steinwender own goal and Chermiti's three strikes secured the win for Rangers. This result moved Danny Rohl's team to within two points of league leaders Hearts, intensifying the title race.

Rohl, appointed Rangers head coach in October 2025, has overseen a tactical revolution at the club, leading to a significant improvement in form and closing a 13-point gap on Hearts. Chermiti, a Portuguese under-21 international, had faced considerable criticism for a lack of goals since his transfer from Everton. However, his decisive performance against Hearts, including a header and a calm finish, marked a crucial impact in Rangers' pursuit of the league title. Five of his seven goals for the club have come against Hearts and Celtic, according to AFP.
