Tottenham Hotspur Women defeated Aston Villa Women 7-3 in a Women's Super League match at Villa Park on Sunday, 15 February. The ten-goal thriller saw Spurs secure a dominant away victory.
A disappointed Aston Villa manager Natalia Arroyo described the defeat as "cruel" and stated her side could not "concede this amount of goals if we want to be competitive". Tottenham head coach Martin Ho praised his players for their "ruthless edge" in front of goal. However, Ho also expressed disappointment that his team "didn't put more in".
Spurs' goals came from Signe Gaupset, Bethany England, Olivia Holdt, a brace from Cathinka Tandberg, Maika Hamano, and Julie Blakstad. Kirsty Hanson scored twice for Villa, with Oriane Jean-François adding their third goal. The result moves Tottenham level on points with Arsenal in the WSL table.
