Interim manager Kris Lindsay has named a 24-player squad for the opening 2027 Women's World Cup qualifiers, according to BBC Sport. Laura Rafferty returns to the senior side after she missed the recent Euro 2025 play-off defeat to Norway. The Rangers defender joins a group tasked with facing Georgia and Greece in the first round of fixtures.
Lindsay took charge of the national team following the departure of Tanya Oxtoby earlier this month. He has included eight players from the Irish Premiership in his first selection as interim manager. Experienced defender Sarah Robson also features in the squad as the team prepares for the away fixture in Tbilisi on February 27.
Northern Ireland then host Greece at Windsor Park on March 3. Per the Irish FA, several young players retain their places following the conclusion of the previous European qualifying campaign. The matches mark the start of the qualification process for the tournament, which will take place in Brazil.
