Norwich City striker Josh Sargent is set to move to Major League Soccer side Toronto FC in a deal worth more than £20m.

Norwich City have agreed to sell striker Josh Sargent to Major League Soccer club Toronto FC, according to BBC Sport. The transfer fee for the 26-year-old United States international is reported to be in excess of £20m. This figure represents a significant profit for the Championship side, who signed the forward from Werder Bremen for approximately £8m in 2021.

Sargent has scored 38 goals in 118 appearances for the Norfolk club during his five-year tenure. He missed several matches this season due to a groin injury but remained a primary target for the Canadian side. Toronto FC, managed by John Herdman, are looking to strengthen their attack before the North American season continues.

Per the BBC, the striker has already agreed personal terms with the MLS club. The deal is expected to be finalised once Sargent completes a medical examination in Canada later this week. Norwich City currently sit in the play-off positions in the Championship table.
