Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has given his squad three days off following a victory to keep pace with leaders Arsenal.

Pep Guardiola has instructed his Manchester City players to relax for three days as the Premier League title race intensifies. Following a 3-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Guardiola told his squad to enjoy life with caipirinhas and daiquiris. The manager stated that he does not want to see his players at the training ground until Wednesday.

Manchester City moved within two points of Arsenal with the win at the Etihad Stadium. Per BBC Sport, the manager believes mental rest is essential as the team prepares for a congested fixture list in three competitions. Erling Haaland scored twice in the match, taking his league tally to 23 goals for the season.

According to Manchester City, the first-team squad will return to training on Thursday to prepare for the upcoming FA Cup fourth-round tie. Guardiola noted that his players had earned the break after a series of high-pressure matches. Arsenal remain top of the table with a game in hand over the defending champions.
