Michail Antonio has held initial discussions with Charlton Athletic regarding a potential return to domestic football.

Michail Antonio, the former West Ham United forward, has commenced initial discussions with Charlton Athletic concerning a possible return to domestic football. Antonio became a free agent after his contract with West Ham expired on 30 June 2025, following a decade at the club. These talks follow a period of extensive rehabilitation for Antonio, who was involved in a near-fatal car crash in December 2024. The incident left him with a lower limb fracture, requiring surgery and a lengthy recovery. He continued his rehabilitation with West Ham and later trained with Leicester City in December 2025. The experienced attacker had previously confirmed he was in discussions with clubs both in England and abroad. These current talks with Charlton represent a significant step in his journey back to competitive football.
