Bompastor seeks privacy over Green's Chelsea Women exit

Chelsea Women manager Sonia Bompastor has requested that the reasons for Paul Green's departure as head of women's football remain private.

Paul Green has left his role as Chelsea Women's head of football after 13 years at the club. Manager Sonia Bompastor stated she wants the reasons for his exit kept "private and confidential". Green joined Chelsea in 2013, becoming an influential figure in the team's development and success.

During his tenure, Chelsea Women secured 19 major trophies, including eight Women's Super League titles and six FA Cups. He was instrumental in player recruitment and worked closely with former manager Emma Hayes.

Green's departure follows Bompastor signing a new long-term contract with the club, extending until 2030. His exit also comes amidst a recent downturn in the team's form. Reports suggest Green's influence in decision-making had been increasingly impeded by co-sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley.
